Youth Farm Education
The Farm Education Collaborative offers pre-school, after school, homeschool and parent-child programs at Crimson & Clover Farm.
Grow Food Northampton offers limited scholarships for low-income youth and families.
Here’s the line-up for Spring 2014!
We must register a minimum of 7 children to offer this program so spread the word!
Home school Planters Program for ages 6 to 10, 10am to 12noon
$140 for 8 weeks – April 28 – June 23, 2014 (no program Memorial Day)
Activities will include preparing delicious snacks with garden fresh produce, helping with planting and harvesting in the garden, farm animal activities, and more. Join us as we integrate curriculum through hands-on farm activities, games, art, songs, and group work.
FOG Club (Florence Organic Garden) for ages 8 to 12, 3:30-5:00 pm
$125 for 8 weeks – April 28 – June 23, 2014 (no program Memorial Day)
This spring we’ll join many other community gardeners as we plant, tend and build in the Florence Organic Garden. If your child is interested in learning more about growing their own food, building garden structures, and cooking delicious meals, the FOG Club is for them! We’ll spend most of our afternoons in our community garden plot but also venture across the street to Crimson and Clover Farm to help out on the farm. Planting, helping, eating, and building in the spring garden!
Little Growers Morning Program for ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers,10:00-11:30 am
$125 sliding scale for 8 weeks – April 30 – June 18, 2014
Join us for a morning of planting and playing in the fields as we discover garden secrets, farm friends, and sweet treats! We will prepare and eat snack using our freshly gathered ingredients, visit with the animals, play in the garden, and join in a circle of story and song.
Preschool Mornings on the Farm for ages 3 to 6, 9:00-11:00 am
$140 for 8 weeks – May 2 – June 20, 2014
We invite your littlest farmers to join us for a morning of fun and learning together on the farm. We will prepare and eat snack using freshly gathered ingredients from the fields and gardens, visit with the animals, create farm-inspired art, and then join in a circle of story and song.
